METICULOUS SKIN CARE:

* Keep skin meticulously clean and moist using a gentle cleanser
   with a moisturizer every day.
* This decreases risk of infection and eliminates bacterial and
    fungal growth.
* Use Low PH lotions to protect the skin from pathogens Tips to
    avoid injury and prevent infection:
* Do not bite nails. Do not cut cuticles. Use a nail file to shorten
    nails. Manicures, pedicures, and artificial nails can be beneficial,
    if maintained properly.
* Wear gloves for indoor and outdoor work to help avoid exposure
    to harmful chemicals, wounds and scratches.
* Insect bites puncture the skin similar to an injection. Use bug
    spray as a preventive measure.
* Be cautious of small things like pet scratches and paper cuts.
* Wear shoes when outdoors if a lower extremity is involved.
* Unnecessary skin punctures (vaccines, venipuncture, acupuncture,
    piercing) may cause infection.
* Burns from heat sources including the sun.
* Temperature changes, extreme heat or cold, frostbite
* Clean all injuries immediately.
* Call physician at first sign of infection.

Activities which may cause extensive trauma to the lymph vessels:
* Excessive strain during exercise
* Physical overexertion in affected limb/s. (Heavy lifting,
    joint over-rotation)
* Restriction of blood and lymph circulation. (Blood pressure
    cuffs, poor fitting elastic garments, tight bra straps, waist
    bands, watches, rings, etc)
